The Keyano Huskies are ready to go to battle on home turf next weekend

With the playing of the 2016 CCAA National Soccer Championships just one week from beginning, the quarterfinal schedules have been released.

The (9-1) ACAC Champion Huskies mens soccer team will welcome the Humber Hawks and Algonquin Thunder from Ontario, Dynamiques du Cégep de Sainte-Foy from Quebec, Holland Hurricanes from Atlantic Canada / Prince Edward Island, the Douglas Royals and Capilano Blues from British Columbia, and the SAIT Trojans from Alberta.

10 a.m.-Humber vs SAIT Trojans

12 p.m.-Sainte-Foy vs Algonquin

3 p.m.- Capilano Blues vs Holland Hurricanes.

5:30 p.m.- Keyano Huskies vs Douglas Royals

The winner of the quarter-finals will move into the semifinals before the CCAA Soccer Champion is crowned Saturday evening at about 6:00 p.m.

The Huskies who are fresh off winning the ACAC Championship last week in Medicine Hat have been led all year long by Francis Kailondo and Rodrigo Koebsch who both recorded 21 points each while Steven Bohrson has done a fine job in net allowing only three goals all season while allowing 0.40 goals a game in the regular season.

“With teams like this from across the country, great action on the pitch is guaranteed throughout this tournament,” said Charity Wiley, 2016 CCAA Men’s Soccer National Championship Committee Chair. “Our Region is in for an amazing weekend with the best teams in College soccer Canada has to offer. Bring your Huskies pride to the stadium to cheer on the dedicated athletes, this is an event for the whole family!”   

Day passes for adults are for purchase online or at the MacDonald box office and are $10.50 while youth aged (6-17) are $5.25. Additionally, Family Day passes are available at the door only for $29.99 which includes four concession tickets.
