 The good people of Ed's Janitorial Service, Edison Coronado to be more specific, will be setting up shop at Peter Pond Shopping Center on Friday, March 12 and Saturday the 13 to raise money to give to the people of Chile to help them in their time of need. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated and Ed would like to thank everyone that has already supported this cause.

 Tavern on Main is holding a fundraiser on March 11 to help raise money for the Big Brothers and Sisters of Wood Bufallo for their annual “Bowl for Kids Sake” bowling tournament. In addition to the regular weekly live entertainment going on for Open Mic, they will also be hosting a PIE auction! They have several people volunteering to go up for auction to get PIE-ed in the face! The highest bidder will then get the great pleasure of PIE-ing someone in the face!! In addition to the auction, they will also be taking pledges for their bowling team and there will be tons of prizes! Don’t miss out and support a great cause!

 On Wednesday, April 14 at 8p.m. in the Keyano recital theatre, you are invited to attend Keyano College's Annual Spring Music Concert. A tradition that began some 25 years ago, Keyano College students, staff and community members who love to sing and play instruments will put on a show for Fort McMurray. Choir songs will include "I dreamed a dream" from Les Miserables and a number of tunes from the musical Cats including "Memory"

 Circo Della Notte 2010 Cabaret is on March 20 at 7 p.m. Join members of Keyano College's Visual & Performing Arts program for a night of art, drama, music and intrigue.  Keyano College's Visual & Performing Arts music students will set up their instruments and music sheets in the Keyano Theatre Lobby for a free concert on Tuesday, March 30 from noon to 1 p.m. Admission for the concert is free and you are welcome to bring a lunch!

 Educare proudly presents a workshop on “Practicing Story Skills at Home”. Join them for a fun filled interactive session hosted by Teacher Tina. She will be illustrating different ways to read books to your children; as well as “Working on Listening Skills”. This will take place on March 25th at 10am at Educare.  Help the Canadian Cancer Society celebrate, remember and fight back on June 11 at The Relay For Life which is their biggest cancer fundraising event and a unique opportunity for people of all ages to come together and join the fight against cancer. Relay For Life is a 12-hour, overnight, non-competitive event that involves teams of people taking turns walking or running around a track. The event opens with the Survivors' Victory Lap, where cancer survivors kick-off the event by walking an inspirational first lap. During the moving Luminary Ceremony at dusk, luminaries are lit to pay tribute to loved ones and provide inspiration to participants.  Hope is in full bloom this spring! Daffodil Days is marking its 49th year as Canadian Cancer Society volunteers team up to sell fresh bunches of bright yellow daffodils to help raise money in support of the fight against cancer from March 22 to March 28.
You can join the fight by pre-ordering your daffodils for your organization today. Fax back the pre-order form that you can get at www.cancer.ca or call the Daffodil Days hotline at (780) 791-0174. You can also sign up as a volunteer to help sell daffodils.

 North Word will be hosting a Poetry Party at the Fort mcMurray Public Library from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Saturday, March 13. There will be lots of activities for all different ages. Some of these activities will include making ransom note poems, contributing to the word window, ordering a custom made poem from a poet, writing haikus and a chance to watch a short film or random reading.
